Celebrate Vitamins

The bariatric post-op population has an alarmingly high rate of vitamin D, B, Iron, and Calcium deficiencies. For our staff, taking the best care of ourselves includes taking Celebrate supplements. The surgeon did his part and it’s our responsibility to do ours!

Celebrate Multi VitaminExcept for floundering around early on and taking Flintstones for my first year, I have been a pretty good post-op role model for taking vitamins since my lap RNY nearly 8 years ago but even I have had deficiencies.

Less than half of bariatric post-ops bother with any vitamin
supplementation at all – don’t be one of them. Get the right vitamins and be serious about taking them every day! Try Celebrate and see how good healthy feels..

Standard Multivitamin Not Enough After Gastric Bypass

Nutritional deficiencies after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass for morbid obesity often cannot be prevented by standard multivitamin supplementation.

Christoph Gasteyger, Michel Suter, Rolf C Gaillard, and Vittorio Giusti

A study just published in the May issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that the majority of gastric bypass patients cannot maintain their nutritional health on a basic multivitamin supplement. The study followed 137 gastric bypass patients for two years. By the end of year one, 59% of the participants required additional supplements and by the end of year two, this number had increased to 98%.

The authors concluded that basic multivitamins are not effective at preventing deficiency in gastric bypass.
