Lauren's Hope Medical Identification Bracelet
One moment I was on the back of our BMW1200 LT, enjoying the sunny Key
West morning, and the next I was sliding down the pavement on my arms
and stomach wondering what on earth had happened!
Just minutes before our motorcycle slid out from under us, I had zipped
the front of the Kevlar jacket my husband had ordered me to don in the
85 degree heat. I put on my motorcycle helmet and jacket in case the worst
should happen, and using the same reasoning none of us should be without

want to ensure that if I were unconscious or unable to speak for myself
that doctors working on me would know that I had a gastric bypass procedure.
I want the surgeon looking at my scan or performing exploratory surgery
to know in advance that my anatomy has been rearranged. I want medical
problems more common to gastric bypass patients to be considered sooner
rather than later. It makes sense and now that these bracelets offer a
perfect marriage of jewelry and medical practicality it is an important
investment for all of us.
